Our Mission

Where Baltimore Greets The World: We’re Creating A World-Class Destination At Baltimore’s Waterfront

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, in collaboration with our government, business, and community partners, creates a clean, green, safe, sustainable, and thriving urban waterfront for all to enjoy.

Vision For the Waterfront

Starting with the opening of Harborplace in 1980, The Waterfront has been the shining example of Baltimore’s true potential as a thriving metropolitan, cultural meeting point and recreational destination for residents and visitors alike. We view The Waterfront as the meeting place where all of the diverse neighborhoods throughout our city visit to connect, shop, dine and learn about the ecosystem that vitalizes the region–our water. The modernizing additions seen across The Waterfront from Rash Field Park to Fells Point represent the concerted push by our staff and board to design a space with all the features that best reflects the promise of our wonderful city.

Our Harbor

Our Neighborhoods

Baltimore’s storied past and bright future are both seen in each of our Waterfront neighborhoods. Comforting walks on The Promenade of The Inner Harbor guide you past the new Rash Field Park, Maryland Science Center, Harborplace, and The National Aquarium. Remaining on the red brick trail leads into the high-end retail, premier dining, and nightlife of Harbor East before walking along with the aquatic sanctuaries that connect to the new architecture of Harbor Point that offers some of the area’s best views. Fells Point’s trendy shops, one-of-a-kind boutiques, welcoming bars, and award-winning restaurants ready to show you to your table make every visitor beyond memorable.

Waterfront Parks

The Waterfront was made for you to explore. Along with its eye-opening attractions are the natural getaways located on all points of The Waterfront meant for you to play, relax, and engage with to understand your impact on the environment better. These stops on our self-guided Nature Walk and Planet Walk take you to these green spaces to see expertly grown plants in tranquil settings that uniquely engage visitors to appreciate each plant blooming colorfully.

Business Directory

The Waterfront is home to an impressive list of businesses ready to meet your shopping, dining, recreational, and leisure needs. Our all-in-one Business Directory will guide you to all the best brands, services, and goods that represent the best of what Baltimore has to offer.

Harbor Happenings

Harbor Happenings is a networking opportunity for businesses along the Baltimore waterfront to share & collaborate on upcoming promotions. The waterfront is bustling with new energy and excitement, and the Partnership wanted to provide a space for cross-promotion opportunities, collaboration for package deals, coordination of event/holiday discounts, and increased communication between the businesses in our neighborhoods.

Our Work

Activating The Waterfront

Enlivening The Waterfront is the mission we diligently work to bring to life daily. Working with community leaders, local and national performers, area businesses owners, city officials, public and private donors and our devoted board members, we are constantly developing new programs, events and opportunities that make our Waterfront the place to be.

Keeping Our District Clean, Green, And Safe

Nothing is more important to us than your well being. Our Safety Guides are here to ensure that you have the piece of mind enjoying your time here with us. That dedication carries over to the efforts taken by our Clean Team in making sure our districts are free of debris. Our Green Team compliment the environmental standards our outreach on the water by maintaining the lawns, flower beds and other natural aspects on The Waterfront.

Preserving Our Healthy Harbor

The Harbor is Baltimore’s lifeline to The Chesapeake Bay through the Patapsco River. Comprehensively ensuring its vitality for this and future generations of Marylanders and visitors is what the Healthy Harbor Initiative does through educational outreach and direct means of impact though The Baltimore Oyster Partnership and the man himself–Mr. Trash Wheel. These are just a few measures implemented over the years that will help preserve an already Healthy Harbor.

Creating Vibrant Public Spaces

We are focused on creating an attraction welcoming family fun programming, a space for local entertainment, thriving retail atmosphere, clean streets of exquisite dining options along with moving scenes of nightlife–and that's just the beginning. The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore is committed to welcoming everyone to this amazing hub where education meets leisure, commerce meets the community and the world can meet the marine life of our precious waterways.
