Bringing Together Baltimore's Best To Create
An Accessible, Engaging, and Charming Urban Waterfront

Our Mission

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, in collaboration with our government, business, and community partners, creates a clean, green, safe, sustainable, and thriving urban waterfront for all to enjoy.

Vision For the Waterfront

Starting with the opening of Harborplace in 1980, The Waterfront has been the shining example of Baltimore’s true potential as a thriving metropolitan, cultural meeting point and recreational destination for residents and visitors alike. We view The Waterfront as the meeting place where all of the diverse neighborhoods throughout our city visit to connect, shop, dine and learn about the ecosystem that vitalizes the region–our water. The modernizing additions seen across The Waterfront from Rash Field Park to Fells Point represent the concerted push by our staff and board to design a space with all the features that best reflects the promise of our wonderful city.

Our Harbor

Our Neighborhoods

Baltimore’s storied past and bright future are both seen in each of our Waterfront neighborhoods. Comforting walks on The Promenade of The Inner Harbor guide you past the new Rash Field Park, Maryland Science Center, Harborplace, and The National Aquarium. Remaining on the red brick trail leads into the high-end retail, premier dining, and nightlife of Harbor East before walking along with the aquatic sanctuaries that connect to the new architecture of Harbor Point that offers some of the area’s best views. Fells Point’s trendy shops, one-of-a-kind boutiques, welcoming bars, and award-winning restaurants ready to show you to your table make every visitor beyond memorable.

Waterfront Parks

Baltimore's waterfront parks are gateways to premium recreation, live entertainment, and nationally-acclaimed conservation gardens full of native plants that serve as reminders to visitors of their daily impact on the environment. These parks are where the waterfront neighborhoods of Baltimore meet to unwind while appreciating the view of the Harbor from each picturesque location.

Our Goals

Activating The Waterfront

Enlivening the waterfront with local Baltimore art, sounds, and flavors is the mission we diligently work towards every day. With support and feedback from community leaders, local businesses, city officials, and partner organizations, the Waterfront Partnership is constantly developing new programs, events, and opportunities that make our waterfront unique and energetic while capturing the character of our city.

Keeping Our District Clean, Green, And Safe

Our teams work daily to ensure our waterfront is a welcoming gateway to our city, where every visit to our beautiful harbor is exceptional and memorable. Our Clean Teams are committed to making sure all of our parks, public spaces, and promenades are clean, welcoming, and attractive. Our Green Team guarantees that the grass is always lush and the flowers are in bloom. They work daily to maintain the waterfront's lawns, flower beds, and other natural features. Whether they are helping to snap a family photo or giving advice on the best lunch in town, our Safety Guides are there to make sure visitors and residents are happy, safe, and satisfied.

Preserving Our Healthy Harbor

Waterfront Partnership's Healthy Harbor Initiative works to restore and protect our city's most valuable asset, the harbor. Through our growing list of projects, programs, and partnerships, the Healthy Harbor Initiative is educating the public about what lives beneath the surface and how we can all fight for the urban ecosystem through actions we take.

Creating Vibrant Public Spaces

The waterfront is a gateway to our city, the foremost destination for residents and visitors, essentially "Where Baltimore Greets the World."
The Waterfront Partnership advocates for the continued re-investment in our waterfront by funding improvements and new amenities, constructing unique and playful parks, and activating public spaces through events and programs to keep the harbor feeling fresh and lively.
