Bmore Lit (Youth Event) - July 2nd

Bring the whole family to the Bmore Lit Summer Series for an evening of excitement and entertainment for kids (and adults) of all ages. Stay connected at the hashtag #bmorelitsummerseries to keep up with where your next favorite artist, entrepreneur, and activities is.

As part of his three pillar plan to improve Baltimore City public health and safety, Mayor Scott is committed to boosting community engagement. Part of this includes protecting our kids from violence by giving them safe but fun outlets for their creativity and energy during the summer months.

Bmore Lit Summer Series is the perfect example of young people and their families gathering together in a safe environment with lots of fun activities for different ages. This event happens once a month at Rash Field Park from June until August when the kids go back to school.

Dance to music by live DJs, watch live performances, take some family photos in the photo booths, and even get your kids’ (and yourself) a haircut from 5 to 8PM on July 2nd this July 4th weekend.

Bmore Lit is a great way for families to enjoy the summer heat and discover meaningful connections through music, live entertainment, and plenty of community services.

B-Side Farmers Market - July 3rd

Underneath the Jones Falls Expressway at Holliday & Saratoga streets, B-Side at the Baltimore Farmers’ Market lets you enjoy an afternoon of food and drink vendors AND a free performance showcasing local artists, musicians, doers, and performers. With free parking at the market as well, there’s no reason to miss this amazing assembly of community.

This fabulous event will bring a new flavor every month to the “after-party” of the weekly Farmers’ Market. The Farmers’ Market runs from 7AM to 12PM and after that, it’s all fun from B-Side until 3:30PM.

Coming up on July 3rd from 11:30AM to 3:30PM will be the Summer of Soul theme, hosted by local MC and hip-hop frontman Eze Jackson and will feature a powerhouse lineup of funkadelic performances.

The Farmers’ Market will thankfully be available through December 25th so even without the performances, Baltimoreans can still enjoy the fresh produce, handmade wares, and other delicious creations.

Keep up to date with announcements and updates to the market and B-Side (both will happen rain or shine) through the Market’s Facebook page @BmoreFarmersMarket or you can email BOPA’s coordinator of the market, Samuel Huber, at shuber@promotionandarts.org

Fourth of July Events All Day - July 4th

Celebrate America’s Independence Day at the waterfront with a full day of events starting at 9AM and ending at 10PM. Truly an ALL DAY celebration and it’s all in-person too! After a two year hiatus, Baltimore fireworks are returning with an all day celebration.

July 4th gives us a chance to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and slow down to enjoy food, music, fireworks, and more. The waterfront will offer unique celebrations only to be found in Baltimore.

  • Pet Parade - 9am
  •  Don’t forget to register your pet (completely free!) for the Pet Parade, which is returning for the first time in several years, by 8:30AM. The parade will commence at 9AM and pet owners and appreciators alike can see creative human and animal costumes as well as adorable creatures.
  • Star-Spangled Banner - 1PM
  • To get everyone in the 4th of July spirit, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will perform the national anthem in Camden Yards in the game Orioles v. Rangers.
  • Navy Band Commodores - 4pm
  • Kicking off the rest of the events at 4PM will be a performance by the Navy Band Commodores, the Navy’s premiere jazz ensemble. Street performers will also be dancing
  • Picnic at West Shore Park - 3pm
  • From 3pm to 8:30 p.m., the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, BOPA, and the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore are teaming up with EST 1988 Events and Decor for Picnic at West Shore Park featuring food trucks, a DJ, family yard games, an alcohol and mocktail bus, shade tee-pees, picnic blankets, picnic baskets, and more!
  • Frederick Douglass Performance - 7:30pm
  • Stick around the BGE Pavillion Mainstage to hear WordSmith’s humbling spoken word performance of Frederick Douglass’ “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” While it is fun to participate in 4th of July events, it is equally as important to acknowledge the roots of the country that we are celebrating.
  • Baltimore Symphony Orchestra & Fireworks - 8pm
  • Finally, finish your evening at the Waterfront Promenade close to Rash Field Park or across the harbor near Fells Point and Canton for a perfect view of the fireworks starting at 9:30PM. The fireworks should finish around 9:45PM, giving you and your family enough time to head back home for bedtime.
