CIAA 2023: What’s Happening on the Waterfront

CIAA is officially here in Baltimore! The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association brings visitors and events here for their tournament and there is so much going on this week. Wondering how to be a part of all the fun?

Here are the events happening this week on and around the waterfront. Whether you are an avid sports fan, a CIAA alumni, or just here for the vibes, you’ll definitely want to get out and enjoy these events.

FORUMS + EXPOS

CIAA Education Day & Career Expo

Wednesday, February 22 | 10AM-2PM
Baltimore Convention Center

US Army ROTC CIAA Education Day, one of the conference’s most popular events during the CIAA Basketball Tournament, has reached more than 6,000 students. Attendees will be able to meet with college recruiters, both in-person and virtually, from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia to learn tips to prepare for college as well as get the inside track on the collegiate experience.


Capital One CIAA Career Expo

Thursday, February 23 | 10AM-2PM
Baltimore Convention Center

The Capital One CIAA Career Expo provides organizations the opportunity to meet recent graduates, current students from the CIAA member-schools and other universities, career seekers, and career switchers and recruit for available positions.  The CIAA not only has a rich and storied tradition in intercollegiate athletics but also has an equally extensive list of alumni who have gone on to make tremendous strides in many different professions.


Health and Mental Wellness Forum

Thursday, February 23 | 10AM-2PM
Reginald F. Lewis Museum

The Health and Wellness Summit is a series of panel discussions focused on mental health and health disparities within the African American community. This year we have moved the panels into the Baltimore City Convention Center to grow our reach to a more diverse audience. Tapping some of our local athletes and medical professionals to lend their expertise, helps the panels delve into a variety of topics that affect our student athletes and our community, like mental health, COVID 19, nutrition, diabetes, etc. 


Tech House Summit

Friday, February 24 | 11AM-5PM
Rita Rossi Colwell Center

Visit Baltimore will host a tech summit that will focus on new innovative technology trends and leadership that are redefining the landscape of Baltimore and beyond. The event will also provide a meeting space for industry experts, start-ups and the tech community to network and discuss how digital transformation and recruitment from HBCUS can boost business productivity and create a culture that impacts the African American Community and visibility.

Money Moves Financial Summit

Saturday, February 25 | 10AM-2:30PM
Rita Rossi Colwell Center

The financial summit, presented by Visit Baltimore, offers a number of panels and sub-sessions for attendees looking for financial literacy information. The sub-sessions offered are: Young, Black, and Invested; Women: The Future of Business; and Think Outside the Black Box-How to Seal the Deal.

CIAA Fan Fest

The CIAA Fan Fest, is a two-day FREE event held at the Baltimore Convention Center, Friday and Saturday, February 24-25, and features interactive sponsor activations, concerts and other family-friendly entertainment events as part of CIAA Tournament Week.  

The CIAA Greek and High School Step Shows will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center on Friday and Saturday evening, Step Show tickets are available for purchase at ciaastepshows.com.
