Here’s to another successful season of oyster gardening in the harbor!

We are thrilled to say that over the past nine months, our Healthy Harbor team planted and cared for 320 cages full of spat (baby oysters) in the Baltimore Harbor- but we didn’t do it alone. Over 100 enthusiastic volunteers helped us throughout the season from Baltimore City and across the state.

With their help and the help of our wonderful volunteers, we’ve planted 1,180,036 spat in the harbor since 2013.

Marina is a Marylander who has lived in Baltimore for the past 5 years. Before joining Waterfront Partnership, she worked on the restoration team at Chesapeake Bay Foundation and with Maryland small businesses. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, writing, and searching for the best oat milk latte in Baltimore.
