Experience a full day celebrating Baltimore dance, choreography, and intergenerational artistic community! Dancing through life, curated by CJay Philip of Dance and Bmore, will bring dance across genres and community to the main stage at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater.


Baltimore by Baltimore is a series of six all-day festivals that serve as a platform for Baltimore’s all-star artists, makers, and creatives to showcase our diverse and creative communities to the world!

CJay Philip of Dance & Bmore


CJay Philip is the Artistic Director of Dance & Bmore, an ensemble creating a unique fusion of live music, movement, and spoken word. Dance & Bmore Programs designs multi-generational creative enrichment for youth, families, and elders.

CJay's work has been recognized and awarded a Baltimore Social Innovators Award, an Arts Advocate Award, The Mac MacLure Spirit of Leadership Award, a Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellowship, and the Excellence in Theater Education Award from the Broadway League, The American Theater Wings, and Carnegie Mellon University. 

CJay Philip is an accomplished artist and dedicated educator. She was the founding director of the Children's Theater Production Company at the Gordon Center for the Performing Arts. She taught Interdisciplinary Collaboration at Baltimore School for the Arts and Pitch Your Creative Idea at Peabody Conservatory. Her commitment to passing on her knowledge and skills is evident in her Dance & Bmore Programs, which include FazaFam Family Jam, AMP Camp, the Arts Mentorship Program AMP Up, Dance & Bmore's Elder Ensemble, and Bmore Broadway Live, a community theater producing Broadway-style shows with Baltimore talent. @BmoreBroadwayLive


CJay moved to Baltimore in 2009 with her husband Winston after a successful Broadway career in productions of Big the Musical, Street Corner Symphony, and Hairspray. She toured with Dreamgirls, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, and various other shows nationally and internationally. She is a singer, songwriter, and playwright of several original works, including Voices of Carmen, a musical adaptation of the opera Carmen set in a high school. The show is a contemporary spin on an iconic story filled with fresh renditions of Georges Bizet's compositions and a dozen new songs, mixing Pop, Rap, Musical Theater, and R&B, written and arranged by CJay and Winston Philip. @voicesofcarmen
