Baltimore Blueway Gathers Community Feedback

In March, Waterfront Partnership hosted a community input meeting for the Baltimore Blueway, a proposed network of water trails and access points for paddlers in the Inner Harbor and Middle Branch.

The meeting was hosted at the new Patagonia store in Harbor East. Over 100 paddling enthusiasts came out to review draft plans and share their ideas and feedback. This input is now being incorporated into the final plan.

The Baltimore Blueway is a Waterfront Partnership project steered by a volunteer Planning Advisory Committee. Last year, the committee selected Baltimore-based Biohabitats to develop the Blueway plan. Since that time, Biohabitats has conducted public surveys, field assessments, and created a draft plan. The final plan will be released this summer. The Baltimore Blueway will promote paddle recreation in Baltimore waterways through a website and signage. It will also provide critical information about how and where to safely recreate in Baltimore waterways.
