Baltimore by Baltimore in Photos: August ‘24

This month’s Baltimore by Baltimore festival was Groove in the City produced by John Tyler. It was a beautiful, sunny day on the waterfront complete with a dazzling display of local art and cacophony of new voices and Baltimore favorites on stage.

Read on to check out some of our favorite moments at this unique event, from the Love Groove Band performance to a community boat ride on the Sigsbee.

On stage, performers kept the crowd captivated with an array of music that spanned genres and style. Producer John Tyler curated a line up of diverse Baltimore talent, including his own Love Groove band.

The marketplace stretched along the promenade, with makers, vendors, and artists lining the amphitheater. Visitors shopped for hand poured candles and embroidered clothing, cooled off with artisan popsicles, and grabbed lunch from local food trucks.

At Baltimore by Baltimore, we always enjoy the waterfront views- but this month we tied the water in more than ever before. Our Healthy Harbor team tabled, giving visitors a chance to check out crabs, fish, oysters, and even jellyfish from the harbor, as well as participate in a group painting of Mr. Trash Wheel (using harbor water!). And Living Classrooms provided 3 boat rides around the harbor for Baltimore by Baltimore festival-goers who had the chance to sail around and learn about the harbor. They also extended the paddling area for their popular Dragon Boat pedal boats, giving more people a chance to watch the show from the water.

Whether it’s dancing to the DJs, hula hooping to the bands, relaxing in our PNC Shade Stations or Baltimore Magazine reading lounge, or just singing along with friends- there are so many ways we enjoyed Baltimore by Baltimore this month.
