Enjoying Baltimore as an Urban Oasis

Our friends at Visit Baltimore recently released a video highlighting Baltimore’s best open spaces to relax and enjoy nature without having to leave the city. It’s true- Baltimore’s parks, green spaces, and trails truly make it an urban oasis. There are places to enjoy all across the city, and here in the waterfront district, we get to enjoy some of the best spots in Baltimore with our nature-loving neighbors.

Check out the full video above from Visit Baltimore and join us in a game of I Spy- can you catch all of the places and activities mentioned in the waterfront district?

A Place to Pause

A bench or a swing is a great place to relax and enjoy waterfront views, as seen here in these shots at Rash Field Park and Pier 5 in the Inner Harbor.

Get Active- With a View!

Play a game of beach volleyball or practice skateboarding at Rash Field Park, go for a walk or a run down the promenade, or even kayak across the harbor on the Baltimore Blueway. There are so many opportunities to be active on our beautiful waterfront.

Visit Eco-Friendly Landmarks

Our city’s conservation efforts shine in these engaging landmarks on the waterfront, from old to new. Our friend Mr Trash Wheel has been cleaning up trash and fighting pollution in the harbor for 10 years now, and the National Aquarium’s new Harbor Wetland exhibit will educate the public about conservation while helping clean the water and attract wildlife.

Thanks to our friends at Visit Baltimore for creating an excellent guide to Baltimore’s range of open spaces and including some of our favorite spots on the waterfront!
