5 Things to Expect at Mr. Trash Wheel Fan Fest

Mr. Trash Wheel Fan Fest is like a snowflake: no two are ever exactly alike. Our annual celebration of the myth, the legend, our hero of the harbor returns again this Saturday, September 21st at Peabody Heights Brewery with a new, fun twist. Get ready for the Fan Fest you know and love to get just a little bit kookier- and spookier- as we celebrate with a TrashBusters theme! We’ll be busting trash by raising money for brand new booms for Professor Trash Wheel and coming together to support a Maryland Bottle Bill. With a new theme to get down with, here are 5 things to expect at this year’s Mr. Trash Wheel Fan Fest, spanning new additions and old favorites.

#1: A Chance to Don a New Persona

For the night, you’ll get to take on the role of either a Trashbuster or a Garbage Ghoul! Channel your inner Bill Murray and play the part of a meticulous, trash busting hero; or get a little villainous and embody the spirit of litter! Costumes are encouraged and can be creative as you’d like. (Not into dressing up? No worries! Just wear your favorite Trash Wheel gear).

#2: Nostalgic Hangouts with the Ghostbusters

No need to make a call- the Charm City Ghostbusters will already be there! Decked out and armed with their ghost-hunting equipment, our local branch of ghostbusters is sending their best to help us embrace our theme and celebrate Trashbusting. Litter, ghosts, and Stay Puft Marshmallow Men, beware!

#3: Your (New) Favorite Craft Beer

Peabody Heights is of course home to the Mr. Trash Wheel beers. Our cerevisaphiles (beer lovers) should get excited for the all-you-can-drink beers, including favorites like Mr. Trash Wheel’s Lost Python IPA and now, a brand-new release! We will be debuting Mr. Trash Wheel’s Coffee Porter, Trashbuster! Brewed with beans from Baltimore’s own Zeke’s Coffee, our newest Peabody Heights beer brings together the best of our city’s flavor.

#4: Art, Art, Art!

Artwork by Matt Muirhead

Fan Fest wouldn’t be complete without trash wheel-themed art. As always, we will be accepting your brilliant fan-created art to display and sell at the event- and if you’re looking for new inspiration, make something a little spookier for the Trashbuster theme! And everyone will have a chance to unleash your inner artiste during the event itself, with googly eyed crafting stations set up inside the brewery.

#5: A Case of the Goosebumps

Artwork by Brittany Herbinko

This year’s featured Fan Fest artist is Brittany Herbinko, creator of Charm City Goosebumps! Brittany’s art project features Baltimore as the reimagined subject of the original Goosebumps’ iconic book covers. She’ll be bringing the extra spooky vibes to Fan Fest this year with her charmingly creepy covers!
