Baltimore by Baltimore in Photos: September 2024

This month’s Baltimore by Baltimore theme was Dancing Through Life, produced by local producer, choreographer, and organizer CJay Philip. The event celebrated all forms of dance and movement, with communities across the city represented- from musical theater to liturgical dance to Korean dance to African dance and so much more.

One of the most exciting parts of the event were the audience participation pieces, where attendees were invited to learn steps for line dancing, salsa, and African dance pieces. Even when it started to rain, dancers couldn’t resist and it was a great show of community spirit!

For the cultural dance section of the event, dance companies HKL Dance Company, Baltimore Salsa Dance, and Keur Khaleyi brought Korean, Salsa, and African dance to the stage.

Dance groups Dance & Bmore, Full Circle Dance Company, and Baltimore Choreographers Festival represented the Baltimore professional dance community.

Liturgical dance was represented onstage by Divine Language Dance Ministry and City of Hope Dance Ministry.

Youth-centric dance group Bmore Than Dance brought the moves down to the amphitheater and energized the crowd during their set!

Thank you to everyone who came to this past month’s Baltimore by Baltimore to celebrate the dance community! We have one more event left for the 2024 season- be sure to mark your calendars for Sunday, October 6th and join us for our Voting is a Vibe show, curated by Black Girls Vote and Baltimore Votes.
