Harbor Point Ice Festival

Wintry amazement and ice-sculpted fun took over Harbor Point’s Central Plaza this past Saturday, January 27th, for the neighborhood’s annual Ice Festival! Attendees came out to the waterfront for live entertainment, local food and drink vendors, and of course- spectacular displays of ice!

The theme for this year’s festival was A Love Letter to Maryland. Sculptures represented recognizable and beloved Maryland icons and emblems, including: Mr. Trash Wheel, the Ravens & Orioles, our Baltimore benches, and the state flag.

Crowds gathered to watch in amazement as expert ice carvers crafted sculptures on site! This unique sight had people eager to see the process from ice block to ice sculpture.

One of those most popular sculptures of the day was the Mr. Trash Wheel slide. This sculpture not only depicted the hero of the harbor, it also gave attendees (young and young at heart) a chance to slide down the “mouth” of the trash interceptor!

The crowds stayed entertainment all day with sets from local performers and musicians. Attendees were treated to a performance of the Trash Wheel song by Adam Linquist, music from local band Roses n Rust, and beats by DJ Impulse.

In between performances, visitors enjoyed bites from some of Baltimore’s best food vendors, plus delicious drinks from Bar Movement and Ceremony Coffee.
