Juneteenth commemorates the date that enslaved people in Texas were finally freed on June 19, 1863, and marks our country’s second Independence Day. This year marks 3 years since June 2021 when The Juneteenth National Independence Day Act was passed by the US House of Representatives and Senate, and signed by President Joe Biden, recognizing Juneteenth as a National Holiday.Learn more about the historical legacy of Juneteenth here.
