Jake’s Day at Rash Field Park | Sunday, May 14th | 9am-11am
Join us at Jake’s Skate Park on Sunday, May 14th for a fun-filled Mother’s Day morning!
The event will take place at award-winning Jake’s Skate Park in Rash Field, where young people will have a chance to skate while families can enjoy the park and other attractions. This event honors the memory of young skater and Baltimore resident Jake Owens.
There will be free skate lessons for kids under 12 by Joey Jett and Skatepark of Baltimore, plus free custom shirts for moms!
Plus, meet baby goats from Bit of Something Farm and enjoy delicious breakfast from Good Food.
This event is in memory of Jake Owens, the namesake and inspiration for Jake’s Skate Park.
Jake was a 5 year old avid skater in South Baltimore whose life was tragically cut short when a distracted driver hit his family’s car. Jake loved skating, and he loved showing his friends new tricks and helping them learn to skate themselves. He inspired the people he knew to pursue their passions and he still inspires us all to live life to the fullest.
This skate park and celebration in his honor are a way to provide young skaters, like Jake was, a safe and encouraging place to practice and enjoy their hobby. The event and park are welcome to participants of all levels of experience and ages.
