Inner Harbor Ice Rink
The Inner Harbor Ice Rink Returns! ⛸️⭐
Starting November 9th, the rink will be open 7 days a week- the perfect way to end or begin a winter outing on the waterfront!
We are thrilled to bring it back to the Inner Harbor for a third year of sponsorship by our friends at Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds and Pearlstone Family Funds.

Baltimore's 10th Annual Cranksgiving
Cranksgiving is a national event that combines bike riding and giving back. This scavenger hunt/food drive sends teams of riders across the city to collect food items to benefit the Franciscan Center and Moveable Feast. Basically, it's all about food for people in need and riding bikes with friends, new and old.
Artist Conversation: Frederick Douglass | Liberty
Join the Reginald F. Lewis Museum for an artist conversation on their latest art installation, Frederick Douglass| Liberty with artist, Adam Himoff and historian, Dr. Noelle Trent. Frederick Douglass | Liberty is a modernized reimagining of the American abolitionist, writer, orator, and statesman Frederick Douglass (1817-1895). In the portrait, he is confident, determined, and courageous as we know him, but he is also remarkably hip and stylish in modern fashion and posed before a graffiti-scrawled space. Adam Himoff will discuss his inspiration behind the piece which has sparked both admiration and controversy from viewers.

Inner Harbor Ice Rink Opening Day
Come to the opening ceremony from 12-3pm to be one of the first on the ice-and the first 50 skaters skate for free, so be sure to get here early! The free skate is first come, first served.
Boards and Breakfast
Don’t miss the final Boards and Breakfast of the season on Saturday from 9am-11am! Free skate lessons for kids 12 and under from local pro skater Joey Jett and friends.
Teddy Bear Pajama Party
No tricks, just treats! Don’t pack away those costumes and spooky pajamas yet! Squeeze in one more night of Halloween fun, and treat your little one to a party designed just for them and their favorite stuffed animal friend. Activities include: -Bowling with mini pumpkins -Investigate how mama bats find their babies in the dark -Whip up a batch of spooky slime -Stargazing in the planetarium -Open exploration of MSC’s exhibits at night This event is designed for children ages 8 and under, but older siblings are welcome to join in on the fun! This is not a drop off event, all children must have a paid adult in their party.
Halloween at Maryland Science Center
Halloween is back at the Maryland Science Center! The DMV’s legendary Halloween Event returns Saturday, October 26th to The Maryland Science Center with a groovy lineup of dance floor filling talent! For one night only it’s Studio 24, and the party, is on… This event is 21+ only. All items are non-refundable, all sales are final.
Trick or Treat Drag Brunch

Free Fall: AVAM's Annual Halloween Celebration

The Hemingway Room Jazz - Luke Stewart Trio
Luke Stewart is a multifaceted artist—musician, performer, composer, improviser, organizer, and writer-researcher—whose work reflects a profound respect for the history and tradition of creative music. His art spans a broad spectrum of expressive styles within the rich tapestry of Black music in the United States, Africa, and around the world.
The Hemingway Room Jazz: Brock Lanzetti Ogawa of Snarky Puppy
Brock, Lanzetti, Ogawa is the moniker for a trio whose members are widely know through their association with the jazz-funk group Snarky Puppy. Zach Brock (4 and 6 string violins), Bob Lanzetti (acoustic and electric guitars), and Keita Ogawa (percussion) create in the spaces between jazz, folk, experimental, ambient, groove, and world music.
Teacher Night Out
Teachers, we want to celebrate you the best way that the Maryland Science Center can—with an epic science party! Explore, mingle, and most importantly, have fun on Friday, October 18 from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Unwind with a beverage from our friends at Boordy Vineyards or Pherm Brewing Company and take some time to play through our exhibit halls—kid free! Connect with other teachers and learn more about how the Science Center can support you this school year through our field trip offerings and outreach programs. This event is FREE, but advance registration is required. Please be prepared to show a valid teacher ID at check-in.

Join Power Plant Live! for an annual festival celebrating the Filipino culture. Vendors, karaoke, live entertainment and more! Tickets include entry only. This event is all ages.
Spooky Science
Celebrate the thrills and chills of Halloween with science!
Creep over to the Maryland Science Center on Saturday, October 12, if you dare, for an afternoon filled with spooktacular science fun! Experiment with ghoulishly glowing lights that leave behind spine-tingling shadows. Take aim and send spiders flying onto a tangled web with our creepy catapults. Enter Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory for a monster engineering challenge, and more!
All activities are free with paid admission and completely free for members. Costumes are encouraged. No weapons allowed.
Glass Art: Stained Glass Bat
Grind, foil, solder and form a stained glass work of art! Design and craft your very own stained glass bat, with dried flower detail, in this 3-hour workshop designed for ages 8+. This workshop is perfect for glass work beginners who are interested in learning the process! In this workshop you will learn how to use a diamond grinder on pre-cut pieces of glass, discover copper foiling techniques, and use a soldering iron to piece together segments of glass.
Super Science Sleepover: Pokemon Party
Pikachu, I choose you! Calling all pokémon trainers, masters, and enthusiasts! Grab your Pokédex and embark on a journey to the Maryland Science Center for an overnight adventure. Legend has it, there are pokémon from nine different regions inhabiting the Science Center—and you gotta catch ’em all! Test your knowledge of pokémon evolutions, make yourself into a trading card, and battle and trade in our dedicated TCG arena. Plus, you’ll be able to access a gym and multiple Pokéstops all from the comfort of your sleeping bag before lights-out!
Crabs & Crushes
Perched into the Baltimore harbor on an overwater dock, the Phillips Crab Deck delivers all your local Eastern Shore favorites. So get your bibs ready, because this Celebration is about to get a whole lot messier!
This event is an all-you-can-eat crab feast that includes bottomless Smirnoff orange and grapefruit crushes and unlimited draft beer. But wait, that’s not all. The menu also includes endless shrimp, fried chicken, cole slaw, corn on the cob and more! Top off the event with juicy watermelon for the perfect summertime dessert.

October's Baltimore by Baltimore show is Voting is a Vibe, produced by Black Girls Vote & Baltimore Votes.
Join these incredible voter advocacy groups on Sunday, October 6th- just a month before the election- to celebrate the power and importance of your voice during this election season.
With community groups, performers, and advocacy organizations popping up at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, we are showing that voting is not just your civic duty- it’s a vibe.
Costume Creations
Design, craft, and customize your own costume this trick-or-treat season! Explore the in’s and out’s of costume design in this 2-hour workshop for children ages 6+ and an adult partner. Participants will focus on crafting their own helmet, mask, or headdress using a personalized template to insure that it fits perfectly! Instructors will also cover tips for building props and accessories out of cardboard and painting techniques to put the final touches on your handmade masterpiece.

The 7th annual Baltimore Taco Festival is back! Maryland's biggest food festival of the year is taking over an entire city block along with Power Plant Live on Saturday, October 5th & Sunday, October 6th, 2024 for one spectacular weekend festival!

Science Arcade
It’s game time! Build your own games and play some of ours—we’re turning the Science Center into a Science Arcade on Saturday, 28 from noon – 4:00pm. Craft the ultimate cardboard pinball machine. Explore conductivity and circuitry as you test out unique gamepads. Turn yourself into an 8-bit video game character. Practice your aim while experimenting with velocity, pool noodles, and Minecraft. Test out our mega-sized classic Nintendo controller. Plus a few more surprises await you—no quarters needed.
Asia in a Bite Food Festival
Happening every last Saturday from April to September, Asia in a Bite Food Fest is excited to bring the most authentic Asian cuisine to the community of Baltimore!

Super Science Sleepover: Academy of Wizardy
Your acceptance letter has arrived! Be sure to pack your wand and pop on your wizarding robe—you’re in for a magical night, sleeping over at Maryland Science Center’s Academy of Wizardry. Stroll through Diagon Alley where you will identify wand cores, practice quidditch, and create your own pygmy puff to adopt. Brew up potions in the SciLab. Design your own house crest to be displayed on your robes, and take some time to explore your favorite Science Center exhibits at nighttime!

Experience a full day celebrating Baltimore dance, choreography, and intergenerational artistic community! Dancing through life, curated by CJay Philip of Bmore Than Dance, will bring dance across genres and community to the main stage at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater.
Wizards & Wine
Mix a little magic into your Friday night with an enchanting evening at the Maryland Science Center.
