Is Baltimore Harbor Swimmable?
As early as 2019, we knew we were reaching a tipping point where, with routine monitoring, the Harbor could be safely managed as a recreational resource for the city and region.
How Do We Monitor Water Quality In The Baltimore Harbor?
In April of 2023, Waterfront Partnership began daily (Mon - Fri) bacteria monitoring at five sites in the Baltimore Harbor. The results are reported to Waterfront Partnership within 48 hours (often sooner) and are recorded on SwimGuide.org. The sampling season of the water monitoring program ended on October 27th.

Morgan Stanley Volunteers Install Insect Hotel at Harborplace
We engaged 60 volunteers from Morgan Stanley to complete projects at our conservation gardens in the Inner Harbor and Harbor Point. At the Lancaster canal, our volunteers weeded the 4800 sq foot conservation garden, and installed new nesting materials at our bee and insect hotel.
Wine Village Comes to the Inner Harbor May 11-29
Wine Villages are popular open access and admission free Wine Festivals in Europe, and now they are making their way to us here in the states. This Wine Village is modeled after wine villages in Germany, with local Baltimore flavor. The Wine Village will be open from May 11-29 and each day will have different events and things to check out- but there will always be great wine available to try and enjoy!
